About the Role

The Anglican Schools Commission is seeking a visionary leader to fill the position of Director of Technology and Innovation. As a key member of the executive team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and operational oversight of all technology systems and infrastructure across the Commission's 16 schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the Commission's mission, values, and strategic objectives.
  • Lead the planning and execution of IT provisioning across the Commission to support school operations and strategic objectives.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of robust IT systems and infrastructure to ensure high performance, reliability, and security.
  • Establish and enforce cyber security policies and practices across the Commission to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct regular security audits and assessments to safeguard digital assets and infrastructure.
  • Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery and backup plans for seamless business continuity.
  • Drive change initiatives for the introduction of new technologies and systems, ensuring successful implementation across the Commission's schools.
  • Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers, including contract negotiation.
  • Implement system-wide procurement processes to achieve cost efficiencies and innovation.
  • Lead and manage the IT support team, ensuring regular maintenance and operation of IT systems.
  • Chair the Commission's Technology Committee to promote collaboration and best practices among IT staff.
  • Recommend and facilitate professional learning opportunities for IT staff to stay updated with industry standards and practices.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in IT systems management, infrastructure implementation, and cyber security.
  • Experience in a system-based multi-site organization is favorable but not a prerequisite.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Power BI, Power Apps, Share Point, and other Microsoft suite products.
  • Experience with VMware, Azure Data Fundamentals, and Cisco Systems.
  • A tertiary qualification in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) or related field.
  • Microsoft and Cisco certifications will be highly regarded.
  • Solid understanding of technology trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering successful technology projects.
