We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join our team at the University of Adelaide's IceCube Neutrino Observatory. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to expand and further develop our existing research program in high-energy neutrino astrophysics.
About the RoleThis is a fixed-term position for 2 years, offering a unique chance to contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of neutrino astrophysics. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team working on the analysis of data from the IceCube Neutrino Observatory, with opportunities to collaborate with international institutions and researchers.
Key Responsibilities- Develop an innovative research program in high-energy neutrino astrophysics with the IceCube Neutrino Observatory
- Contribute to the analysis of data from the IceCube Neutrino Observatory, including the development of advanced event energy and direction reconstructions
- Collaborate with international researchers and institutions to advance our understanding of neutrino sources throughout the Universe
- Supervise and mentor research students at undergraduate and PhD level
- Contribute to the development of the design of the proposed IceCube-Gen2 observatory
- PhD or equivalent higher degree in experimental astrophysics or experimental physics
- Advanced computational skills, including experience with data analysis software and programming languages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with international researchers
