Research Associate

This position is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a research project focused on LGBTIQ+ youth in Australia. Based in Melbourne, Victoria, you will work with a team of Chief Investigators from the University of South Australia, Australian National University, and La Trobe University.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct archival research at the Australian Queer Archives regarding LGBTIQA+ young people and youth histories in Australia.
- Establish a digital database of research material and perform other project-related tasks, including website development, administration, reporting, and presentation.
- Collaborate with the research team to achieve project goals and objectives.

Essential Skills and Experience- Postgraduate qualification in an area relevant to the research, or relevant experience in archives, LGBTIQ+ histories, or youth and childhood studies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience in research reports and publications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and demands.
- Ability to plan and conduct archival research, liaising with stakeholders.
- Experience with data entry and database management.
- Experience working with young people and conducting social research.
- Experience with website development.
