Senior Tax Accountant Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill this challenging position in our UNSW Tax and Business Advisory Clinic.

About the Position:

The ideal candidate will engage in financial abuse-specific casework, research, advocacy, and law reform efforts. They will also provide trauma-informed tax and accounting advice to individuals who have been victims of financial abuse.

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in Accounting, including relevant Australian tax units (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrate experience providing tax and financial support to individuals and small businesses (TPB tax agent registration is desirable but not essential).
  • Have a proven ability to understand and respond to the needs of clients with lived experience of trauma.
  • Be able to analyse, interpret and integrate complex financial and operational data to inform decision-making and strategic direction.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including in highly sensitive and confidential contexts.
  • Display strong organisational skills, initiative and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a high-performing team environment.
