We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Specialist to join our team.

Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a tax professional who can provide expert advice and guidance on a wide range of tax matters. As a key member of our tax team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of tax and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all tax compliance deliverables are high quality, technically accurate and delivered on time
  • Preparation of corporate tax returns and FBT returns across the corporate group
  • Review of project tax returns
  • Management of external review of corporate and project returns (Australian and offshore)
  • Supporting the Tax Director on board reporting and tax forecasting, including preparation of specific tax papers for Board meetings
  • Advice and assistance on project bids, including review of project tax opinions (as provided by external advisers), ad hoc advisory assistance for projects and transactions
  • Assist the Tax Director with key tax strategic projects
  • Working efficiently and collaboratively with other parts of the business
  • Innovating and supporting continuous improvement initiative in tax compliance and process-based activities
  • Building relationships internally and externally through contributing to the team's provision of ad hoc tax advice and support to the Business
  • Assisting the Business through its ATO engagement programs through the preparation of supporting information and responses for the Business's interactions with the ATO
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business/Tax or Tax Law
  • 2-4 years experience working in a corporate tax division (Big 4, tier 2 firm or in-house tax team) – focus will be on level and breadth of experience
  • Infrastructure/property/M&A experience is beneficial
  • General experience across one/all areas of income tax, including international tax issues, CGT, FBT and GST would be well regarded
