Sheet Metal Worker Job Description

NSW Health is seeking experienced sheet metal workers to join a growing manufacturing team. This hands-on role involves fabrication, assembly, and general workshop duties in a fast-paced environment.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components for ventilation and industrial products.
  • Operate various workshop machinery including press brake, guillotine, folder, rollers, and plasma cutter.
  • Read and interpret shop drawings.
  • Use hand and power tools.
  • Use overhead crane and forklift beneficially.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure products meet design specifications and standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Trade qualification in Australia or overseas equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Background in HVAC, ventilation, or industrial advantageous.
  • Ability to read shop drawings and work within tolerances.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Reliable with excellent work ethic.
