Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Hydrogeology Project Lead to oversee and deliver high-quality hydrogeological projects across our operations.

This critical role involves planning, executing, and overseeing water well drilling programs, ensuring accurate data collection, robust analysis, and clear communication with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of field Hydrogeologists.
  • Plan, implement, and supervise hydrogeological drilling projects.
  • Oversee data collection, quality assurance/quality control processes, and database management.
  • Provide technical input into project scheduling, budgeting, and contractor management.
  • Prepare and review project documentation, including Field Recon reports, Licenses and Approvals, Permits and Reviews, and Scopes of Work.
  • Supervise field activities including earthworks, drilling, and pump testing.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and promote a culture of zero harm.
  • Investigate and resolve incidents relating to hydro drilling operations.
  • Deliver accurate reporting and maintain strong communication with internal stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a Degree in Engineering Geology, Hydrogeology, or Geosciences (Master's in Hydrogeology preferred), and proven applied experience in hydrogeology, ideally in mine water management and water bore drilling within open-pit mining.

A strong Knowledge of conceptual hydrogeological modeling, monitoring, and data interpretation is essential, as well as practical experience with internal and external approvals processes, proficiency in hydrogeological software (e.g., AQTESOLV, Aquifer Test Pro), and data management.

The role also requires demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams, excellent communication, and time management abilities.
