Hydrogeology Project Leader Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Hydrogeology Project Leader to lead our hydrogeological projects across various operations. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of hydrogeological modeling, monitoring, and data interpretation.

About the Role
  • The Hydrogeology Project Leader will be responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising hydrogeological drilling projects.
  • They will oversee data collection, QA/QC processes, and database management.
  • The role requires strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Excellent communication and time management abilities are essential.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and mentor a team of field hydrogeologists in delivering high-quality projects.
  2. Plan, implement, and supervise hydrogeological drilling projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  3. Oversee data collection, quality control, and quality assurance processes, as well as database management.
  4. Provide technical input into scheduling, budgeting, and contractor management.
  5. Prepare and review project documentation, including field reconnaissance reports, license applications, and project scopes.
  6. Supervise field activities, including earthworks, drilling, and pump testing, to ensure accurate results.
  7. Evaluate incidents related to hydro drilling operations and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in Engineering Geology, Hydrogeology, or Geosciences (Master's in Hydrogeology preferred).
  • Proven experience in hydrogeology, preferably in mine water management and borehole drilling within open-pit mining.
  • Strong understanding of hydrogeological modeling, monitoring, and data interpretation techniques.
  • Practical experience with license application and permit processes.
  • Proficiency in hydrogeological software and data management systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication and time management abilities are crucial for success in this role.
