Lead Environmental Planner for Renewable Energy Projects

We are seeking an experienced and passionate environmental planner to lead our team in assessing the environmental impact of renewable energy projects across various sectors.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental planning and approvals, with expertise in leading and managing environmental assessment and environmental impact statement projects. They will also have a firm grasp of key environmental issues associated with renewables, transmission, and transport infrastructure projects.

  • Develop and implement effective strategies for environmental impact assessments, constraints analyses, strategic assessments, and environmental management plans.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to allocate resources, manage budgets, and coordinate timelines for project delivery.
  • Foster a culture of staff wellbeing, retention, and engagement within the team.
  • Support the development and implementation of business plans that meet financial objectives.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level consulting staff to enhance their skills in environmental planning and approvals.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree (with postgraduate qualifications preferred) in environmental science, environmental planning, town planning, or environmental engineering.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience in growing and developing teams and individuals.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership abilities.
  • A drive to mentor and develop junior and mid-level staff in the technical area of environmental planning and approvals.
  • Established industry recognition and networks in specialist disciplines.
