About this OpportunityThis position is available within our Oceanography and Shelf Processes Team, focusing on physical oceanography and coastal dynamics. You will engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with oceanographers, hydrodynamic modellers, and marine ecologists to address critical issues related to environmental stressors in tropical marine habitats.
Your role will involve leading significant initiatives, including managing observational programs, developing numerical models for coastal systems, and researching sediment transport dynamics. You will provide scientific guidance to colleagues and ensure the effective allocation of resources to tackle environmental challenges.

The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in a relevant field, such as physical oceanography or marine biogeochemistry, along with substantial experience in observational and numerical modelling of coastal environments. You should demonstrate:
- Expertise in developing and applying numerical models for coastal processes;
- Strong analytical skills for spatial and temporal data;
- Familiarity with contemporary modelling tools for hydrodynamics and sediment transport;
- Experience in managing ocean observing networks;
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative research environment.
