Job Title: Data Governance Strategist

This role involves the delivery of strategic data governance initiatives, such as data retention, protection, and quality management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and document information about company data assets.
  • Analyse data retention requirements.
  • Classify data assets according to their confidentiality.
  • Analyse data flows and document data lineage.
  • Implement data quality rules.
  • Support data stewards in monitoring and resolving data issues.
  • Facilitate periodic data governance activities, such as retention rule reviews.
  • Develop and facilitate data management training.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, such as data management or computer science.
  • CDMP certification and/or DAMA membership is desirable.
  • At least 3+ years experience in a data governance role.
  • Experience in business analysis and data catalog, such as Microsoft Purview or Collibra.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Effective time management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
