About The RoleOur Pilbara business is thriving, and we're seeking a motivated and team-focused Mechanic (auto-electrician/diesel mechanic) to join our high-performing team. This role will operate from Perth to our sites within Pilbara.
As a Mechanic at Orica, you will provide technical support and maintenance to all of Orica's fixed plant and mobile plant on site. We offer incredible training and organizational development infrastructure, enabling mechanical fitters to take the next step in their careers into technical or leadership roles within a large global business.
Key Responsibilities- General servicing of all mobile and fixed plant and machinery;
- Schedule servicing, repairs, alterations, and breakdown maintenance;
- Assist the Territory and Site Managers to manage a maintenance plan for the equipment at their site(s);
- Continually reassess risks associated with regional operation and maintenance processes, taking appropriate corrective action as required;
- Provide field support for clients by performing training, reviews, and maintenance support on site;
- Participate in safety programs and promote safe work practices.
- Trade certification in either Heavy Road Transport, Auto Electrical, or equivalent;
- For HV Mechanics, auto electrical knowledge is advantageous;
- Strong written and verbal communication, customer relation, and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to attain a Heavy rigid (HR) vehicle license;
- Previous experience working on heavy vehicles (advantageous).
