Independent Governance Expert

About the Role:

RANZCOG seeks an exceptional individual to join its Board as an Independent Director. This is a rare opportunity to contribute your governance expertise and make a tangible difference in women's healthcare across Australia and New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend all Board meetings and participate in Council meetings
  • Draw upon your specific skills and experience to support RANZCOG's Board discussions
  • Engage and effectively communicate with members, trainees, staff, and other stakeholders
  • Be fully conversant with RANZCOG's business and legal obligations

Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Demonstrated expertise in governance or corporate strategy with a strong understanding of fiduciary responsibilities
  • A background in law, finance, or governance is preferred
  • Previous experience as a Board Director in a not-for-profit, healthcare, regulatory, or professional membership organisation
  • The ability to complete training in Discrimination, Bullying, Harassment and Sexual Harassment (DBSH) and cultural safety and competency
