Major Infrastructure Projects Manager Role

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Major Infrastructure Projects Manager to lead the delivery of major infrastructure projects and programs.

This advertisement is for current vacancies and to create a merit list for future ongoing or non-ongoing vacancies arising over the next 12 months. The successful candidate will have the ability to lead a project team as well as projects and programs with key stakeholders across a range of levels and disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of major infrastructure projects or programs, including planning, procurement, public works submissions, construction and commissioning phases.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of accommodation solutions, principles, standards and policies, in order to achieve efficient and optimal use of AFP premises and resources.
  • Oversee risk, scope, time cost and quality across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Support and provide input into internal and external funding bids, business cases and high-level reporting to senior management.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, be able to excel under pressure, make sound decisions and use judgement across a range of issues.

As a Major Infrastructure Projects Manager working directly to the Coordinator, you will initiate, plan, implement and finalise major capital projects and programs within time, budget, scope, resourcing constraints and stakeholder expectations.

Essential Requirements:
  • You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
  • Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Commonwealth procurement policies and legislation including construction procurement.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering major capital works projects and programs.
