Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Theatre Orderly Team Leader to join our perioperative services team at Sunnybank Private Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the operating theatre environment, ensuring that all services are delivered to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the cleaning of the theatre environment to ensure a high standard of evidence-based services.
  • Adhere to Australian College of Operating Room Nurses (ACORN) standards and ensure that all team members are aware of and comply with these standards.
  • Provide leadership and direction to staff, allocating team members and prioritizing tasks to ensure efficient and effective operation of the theatre environment.
  • Work independently, prioritizing jobs and working to a timeline to ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Demonstrate ability to show leadership and work with a wide range of people in a team environment, anticipating peri-operative unit non-clinical needs and responding accordingly.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, patients, and other stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Computer literacy skills, including MS Office, with the ability to use technology to support the efficient operation of the theatre environment.
  • An interest in promoting best practice patient care and a focus on professional development.
  • Sound knowledge of accreditation standards ACHS/AS/NZ 4187 Standards and HICMR.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience working in a senior role and 2 years in a team leader position.
  • Experience working in a perioperative environment, with a strong understanding of the principles of perioperative care.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Sound knowledge of accreditation standards and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
