Job Overview

Rural Fire Brigades and volunteers rely on the Area Offices for tailored support.

This key role involves working closely with stakeholders to manage bushfire preparedness and response across a region.

The successful candidate will lead an Area team in executing regional plans, managing organisational change programs, and undertaking Chief Fire Warden responsibilities.

Closely collaborating with the Regional Duty Manager, this person will maintain operational awareness, respond to large-scale rural fires, and provide command leadership during incidents.

Key duties include managing resources, supporting asset management, attending Rural Fire Brigade meetings, and ensuring corporate systems are up-to-date in line with RFS policies and procedures.

While primarily a day work position, flexible hours may be required, including night shifts and weekends.

Incumbents will participate in a professional development program designed in conjunction with their supervisor.
