Specialist Disability Support Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative team providing support to students with disability and delivering an effective service. The successful applicant will have a sound understanding of evidence-informed instructional strategies for students with disability and/or Specific Learning Disorders.

The role involves working with schools, communities, and other stakeholders to deliver integrated services. A current and valid driver's license is required for state-wide travel with overnight stays and long-distance driving to remote areas.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide professional learning for staff on inclusive education-related topics
  • Offer advice and information on disability, policy, legislation, planning, and reporting requirements
  • Collaborate with school leadership teams, case managers, teachers, and education assistants to meet the educational needs of individual students with disability
  • Develop processes and guidelines to improve outcomes for students with disability
Requirements
  • Hold a relevant teaching qualification and registration
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights
  • Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before starting
  • Consent to and obtain a National Criminal History Check
