We are seeking an experienced and skilled Early Childhood Teacher to join our Kindergarten Inclusion Support Team as a KIS Specialist Consultant.
About the RoleAs a KIS Specialist Consultant, you will work closely with our team to provide specialist training and consultancy for early childhood educators, focusing on creating positive outcomes for all children in line with the National Quality Framework and VEYLDF.
You will assist early childhood educators in meeting the individual needs of children with disabilities and high support needs or complex medical needs, including making reasonable adjustments and modifications to the kindergarten program.
Additionally, you will support all children to access and meaningfully participate in all aspects of the program, while also supporting the kindergarten team in their use of techniques and implementation of strategies relevant to the children's program.
Your expertise will contribute to enhancing the quality of kindergarten programs, making meaningful connections with the local community, and promoting inclusivity and diversity in early education.
Key Responsibilities- Assist early childhood educators to meet the individual needs of children with disabilities and high support needs or complex medical needs.
- Support all children to access and meaningfully participate in all aspects of the program.
- Support the kindergarten team in their use of techniques and implementation of strategies relevant to the children's program.
- Participate in meetings related to KISS service delivery and administration, and assist in the implementation of arising actions.
- In conjunction with the Manager, represent the KIS program in relevant internal and external Committees and working groups.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated professional with:
- Prior experience as an Early Childhood Teacher.
- Knowledge and experience in supporting the inclusion of children with additional needs, and their families, in Early Education and Care Services.
- Strong experience in training and supporting staff in Early Education and Care Services.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the principles and practices of Inclusion, Family-centred, and Strengths-based approaches.
- Ability to think creatively and show initiative. Ability to work independently.
- Australian Drivers Licence.
- The right to work in Australia.
- A current Victorian Police Records Check.
- A current Victorian Working with Children Check.
- Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration.
- Early Childhood Teaching Degree (4 years) or at minimum an Early Childhood Teaching Degree (3 years) or Diploma in Teaching – Essential.
- A Higher degree or Post-graduate Qualification in Early Childhood Education or related field – Desirable.
- An NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance.
We offer a competitive hourly salary of $45-$55 per hour, depending on your experience and qualifications.
