Inclusion Specialist Educator

We are seeking a skilled Inclusion Specialist Educator to join our Kindergarten Inclusion Support Team at Yooralla. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate professional to work with early childhood educators to create inclusive and supportive learning environments.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist training and consultancy services to early childhood educators, focusing on supporting children with disabilities and complex medical needs. You will work collaboratively with the KISS Team to develop and implement strategies that enhance the quality of kindergarten programs and promote positive outcomes for all children.
Key Responsibilities- Assist early childhood educators in meeting the individual needs of children with disabilities and high support needs or complex medical needs, including reasonable adjustments and modifications to the kindergarten program.
- Support all children to access and meaningfully participate in all aspects of the program.
- Collaborate with the kindergarten team to use effective techniques and strategies relevant to the children's program, including behavior support and educational strategies.
- Participate in meetings related to KISS service delivery and administration, and assist in implementing arising actions.
- Represent the KIS program in relevant internal and external committees and working groups.
- Maintain knowledge of current Early Childhood Teaching, Early Childhood Intervention, and Inclusion best practices.
- Prior experience as an Early Childhood Teacher.
- Knowledge and experience in supporting the inclusion of children with additional needs, and their families, in Early Education and Care Services.
- Strong experience in training and supporting staff in Early Education and Care Services.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the principles and practices of Inclusion, Family-centred, and Strengths-based approaches.
- Ability to think creatively and show initiative. Ability to work independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication skills.
- Australian Driver's License.
- The right to work in Australia.
- A current Victorian Police Records Check.
- A current Victorian Working with Children Check.
- Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration.
- Early Childhood Teaching Degree (4 years) or minimum an Early Childhood Teaching Degree (3 years) or Diploma in Teaching – Essential.
- A Higher degree or Post-graduate Qualification in Early Childhood Education or related field – Desirable.
- An NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance.
We offer a competitive hourly salary of $45-$60 AUD per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we provide generous salary packaging benefits to increase your take-home pay and reduce your taxable income.
