Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team at OXIO. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with local regulations, facilitating smooth business operations, and providing legal support to various departments within the company.
Key Responsibilities- Draft, Review, and Manage Legal Documents
You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and managing a variety of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs). You will ensure that all documents comply with Mexican law and company policies.
Ensure Compliance with RegulationsYou will monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including those related to privacy and data protection.
Conduct Legal ResearchYou will conduct legal research and stay up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations, providing expert advice to the legal team and other departments within the company.
Manage the Contract LifecycleYou will manage the contract lifecycle, including negotiation, execution, and renewal of agreements, maintaining an organized contract management system.
Assist with Litigation MattersYou will assist in managing litigation matters, including coordinating with external counsel and gathering necessary documentation.
Provide Legal SupportYou will provide legal support and advice to various departments within the company, including assistance with internal investigations and audits.
Coordinate with AuthoritiesYou will be the single point of contact for the police and judicial authorities in Mexico, coordinating internally and providing responses to lawful intercept requests.
Qualifications- Education
You must have a Bachelor's degree in Law, Legal Studies, or a related field.
ExperienceYou must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably within a tech startup.
SkillsYou must have strong knowledge of Mexican corporate and commercial law, exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English, and proficiency in legal research and legal database management.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in a Series B or Later-Stage Startup
Prior experience in a Series B or later-stage startup is preferred.
Telecom Industry ExperienceTelecom industry experience is also preferred.
