Senior Mechanical Designers play a pivotal role in creating detailed technical drawings and documentation, focusing on design projects across various sectors.

About the Role

We are seeking a talented professional to join our team as a Senior Mechanical Designer on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Design Manager, you will be responsible for preparing technical documents such as proposal drawings, operation manuals, test plans, and manufacturing instructions. Clarity and precision in technical information are paramount, ensuring seamless collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain high-quality technical documents, including proposals, operation manuals, and manufacturing drawings.
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in all technical work.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results and manage project expectations.
  • Act as a point of contact for technical design inquiries and provide expert guidance.
  • Support quality assurance by inspecting manufactured components and ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  • Implement robust document control procedures for traceability and currency of technical documentation.
  • Participate in Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) processes to ensure optimal design outcomes.
  • Conduct testing on prototypes and analyze test data to drive design improvements.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in mechanical design.
  • Qualifications in drafting, engineering, or a related trade background.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software, particularly SolidWorks.
  • Experience working within the resources sector.
