Job Title: Sleep Investigation Unit Professional

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Hospital Scientist to join our Sleep Investigation Unit. As a key member of the team, you will collaborate with hospital scientists, nursing staff, and technicians to conduct comprehensive sleep investigations for patients suffering from sleep disorders.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure quality control for all technical equipment, analysis methods, and sleep study procedures within the department. Additionally, you will provide a strong teaching element in sleep and respiratory physiology and measurement.

To be eligible, candidates must hold a science or applied science degree from an approved university requiring three years of full-time study or an equivalent qualification. A post-graduate degree in science, respiratory science, or physiology is desirable but not essential.

Candidates must also be registered or registry-eligible for the Board of Polysomnographic Technologist qualification – Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT); or Accredited Clinical Physiologist (sleep); or equivalent.

  • The ideal candidate will possess the ability to analyze sleep studies and have advanced troubleshooting and technical ability in polysomnography.

This position falls under Category A with NSW Health, requiring evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy (PD2024_015).
