About the Role

Elders is seeking a highly skilled Carbon Farming Project Officer to join our team on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract. As a key member of our sustainable agriculture team, you will play a critical role in supporting the coordination and delivery of critical Carbon Farming projects for the Elders business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the administration, management, and reporting of Carbon Farming projects under the ACCU Scheme.
  • Utilize Elders' GIS and carbon assessment programs to assess the feasibility of carbon farming on properties.
  • Deliver high-quality carbon feasibility reports, including client and stakeholder liaison, project design, drafting, and compilation.
  • Stay up-to-date with contemporary carbon farming project trends and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage internal and external technical advisers, including those related to various carbon farming methods (soil, vegetation, environmental plantings).
  • Collaborate with the broader Elders business to ensure products meet client needs.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience) in Project Management, natural resource management, agriculture, GIS, or remote sensing related fields.
  • Experience in Project Management, including project coordination, administration, and report delivery for commercial clients.
  • Experience in GIS or remote sensing.
  • Practical understanding of carbon farming initiatives and registered Carbon Farming project implementation in Australia.
  • Practical understanding of farming practices that optimize carbon outcomes in agricultural businesses.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience effectively engaging a variety of stakeholders.
