About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Youth Support Worker at Oasis Youth Services. This is a casual position based in Surry Hills, NSW, and reports to the Team Leader. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering professional and consistent support to young people who are homeless or at risk of experiencing homelessness.

The role requires a values-driven and proactive approach, with a focus on providing a safe and nurturing environment for all residents residing within the refuge setting. Key responsibilities include assisting residents with daily living tasks, completing comprehensive intake and risk assessments, and maintaining accurate record keeping.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in social sciences, welfare, or a related field, with relevant experience in a social service environment. A current NSW Working with Children Check, NSW Driver's license, and First Aid Certificate are also required.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment for all residents residing within the refuge setting.
  • Assist residents with daily living tasks, including cleaning and maintenance of the refuge environment.
  • Complete comprehensive intake and risk assessments for all young people.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping that meets legislative standards.
  • Support the living skills program and run group work sessions, such as fitness and cooking.
