Role Overview:

The Provisional Fellow role is an exceptional opportunity for Advanced Trainees to enhance their training and develop the skills required for a consultant position in clinical care, education, and research within the Department of Sleep Medicine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical supervision of acute and ambulatory care, including sleep disorders associated with other medical problems, as well as behavioural aspects of sleep medicine.
  • Providing high-quality patient care and managing the care of inpatients and outpatients of Sleep Medicine, developing skills essential for a consultant role.
  • Leadership and educational roles in the department, including participation in unit meetings, teaching, and research activities.
  • Delivering care that meets the highest standards of skill and autonomy consistent with advanced training.
Selection Criteria:
  • Completion of MBBS or equivalent and current general registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Registration with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) as an Advanced Trainee or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 6 months' experience in a relevant subspecialty.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills with proven ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals.
  • Ongoing commitment to professional development and the ability to teach.
  • Understanding of research methodology or research experience and a willingness to undertake a research proposal.
  • Ability to work independently within a complex clinical environment.
