Energy Lawyer Role Overview

The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer with 2-6 years of experience in projects, energy or infrastructure law.

  • Strong drafting, negotiation and contract management skills are essential for this role.
  • Candidates should have a commercial mindset and be able to work closely with commercial and project delivery teams.
  • A collaborative and adaptable approach is necessary to navigate the fast-paced environment of this role.

The successful applicant will be responsible for advising on legal, compliance and regulatory aspects of energy storage projects. This will include leading and supporting due diligence and negotiation of project agreements.

Additionally, the lawyer will provide legal input on governance, policies and corporate legal work. They will also work closely with other teams to monitor relevant regulatory and legislative changes in the renewables and energy storage space.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise on legal, compliance and regulatory aspects of energy storage projects.
  • Lead and support due diligence and negotiation of project agreements.
  • Provide legal input on governance, policies and corporate legal work.

Requirements
  • Admitted as a lawyer in Australia.
  • Practising as a projects, energy or infrastructure lawyer for 2-6 years in private practice or in-house.
  • Experience advising on development, construction and financing of large-scale renewables or infrastructure projects would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and risk frameworks in the energy sector.
