Construction Lawyer - Infrastructure Projects
About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled lawyer to join our client's high-performing legal team in Sydney.
This role offers the opportunity to provide strategic legal support across a portfolio of major infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on Managing Contractor (MC), Design and Construct (D&C), Construct Only, Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) and other significant construction initiatives.
Draft, review, and negotiate complex project agreements, including MC, D&C, Construct Only, ECI, PPPs and long-term construction contracts.
Manage legal aspects of major developments from inception through to delivery.
Advise on contract strategy, claims management, and dispute avoidance.
Support key commercial decisions to drive project success.
The ideal candidate will have 4-8 years of post-admission experience from a reputable law firm or in-house role, with extensive experience in front-end legal work and project delivery within the construction sector.
Key attributes include:
Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex construction contracts.
Practical experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects, with a focus on contract strategy, claims management, and dispute resolution.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
A proactive and adaptable mindset, able to navigate and resolve complex challenges.
Capability to work independently and excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
