Senior Genetic Counsellor Opportunity

The Sydney Children's Hospitals Network is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Genetic Counsellor to join the Kids Cancer Centre at Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick.

About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing genetic counselling and education to clients, including triaging referrals and organising clinics
  • Identifying areas for improvement in the service and developing strategies to address these
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of cancer genetics services across the network
  • Educating health professionals and the community about genetic disorders and cancer genetics

The role also involves working closely with other teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of services and effective communication with clients and families.

Requirements
  • A degree in genetic counselling or a related field
  • Significant experience in genetic counselling, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment
