Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team at the REO Group.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled accountant to take on a key role in our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial reporting and analysis support, ensuring timely and accurate completion of month-end closing processes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting, with experience in management accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory reporting.

You will be working closely with our Finance Manager to oversee the preparation of P&L and Balance Sheet reports, as well as supervising the Assistant Accountant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support for the Finance Manager in the areas of monthly P&L and Balance Sheet reporting
  • Supervise the Assistant Accountant and ensure accurate and timely results
  • Complete monthly accruals, prepayment and allocation journals
  • Drive accurate and piercing insights through the P&L review
  • Prepare the balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting to the business in line with Australian Accounting Standards and Statutory requirements
  • Assist in the preparation of yearly financial and statutory reporting
  • Prepare and lodge the FBT return
  • Assist in audit processes as required
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A qualified CA/CPA accounting qualification
  • At least three years of experience in financial accounting
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Excel and BI reporting
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
