We pride ourselves on our innovative approach, technical expertise, and dedication to safety, quality, and sustainability. Our team of over 3000 members strives to make a difference in the communities we serve.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Network Coordinator to join our Electricity Control Room team, reporting to the Team Leader Control & Dispatch Electricity. This permanent, full-time opportunity is a chance to contribute to the safe and efficient planning, control, and coordination of Jemena's Electricity Networks.

In this role, you will work closely with a collaborative team to leverage your skills in SCADA systems (DMS, OMS) used for monitoring and controlling our electrical distribution networks. You will play an essential role in coordinating planned switching for maintenance crews, as well as managing reactive switching and fault finding in emergency situations.

The role includes a 12-hour shift work roster (Melbourne CBD-based Control Room) and availability roster, ensuring the team is always well-supported. This comes with a competitive Role Specific Allowance and additional financial incentives, such as corporate bonus schemes.

About You

To thrive in this role at Jemena, your background could include experience in operational or technical roles within the utilities industry, specifically electricity distribution networks. You may have also worked in trade-based roles, specializing in instrumentation, electrical, or mechanical areas.

We value your knowledge of operating an electrical distribution network, as well as your understanding of sub-transmission, high, and low-voltage distribution systems. Your ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and procedures will be crucial in supporting construction, maintenance, and testing activities.

The ideal candidate is a strong collaborator and communicator who can work autonomously while making clear, well-thought-out decisions. Your high level of integrity, focus on customer service, and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure will set you up for success.

Requirements
  • Diploma of Electrical Supply Industry (ESI) – System Operations (or equivalent), or relevant experience with the ability to pursue further qualifications.
  • Understanding of network operations, construction, maintenance, and testing activities.
  • Strong analytical skills to approach operational challenges.
  • Proficiency in using SCADA systems and PC-based control room applications.
  • The ability to remain calm, composed, and decisive during emergency situations.
  • A flexible approach to adapting to new technology within both field and Control Room environments.

We are committed to making a meaningful impact toward Australia's 'Net Zero' targets through the delivery of critical infrastructure projects and being a part of our journey to shape the future of the energy and utilities industry.

As part of Jemena's recruitment process, you will be required to undergo pre-employment checks.
