As an Assistant Ambient Manager, you will support the Ambient Manager in leading the department and ensuring strong processes across routine operations, food safety, and promotions.
This role involves leading, managing, and supporting the Ambient and Replenishment teams to ensure stock availability for efficient online order picking. All candidates will undergo a pre-employment medical check as part of the recruitment process to support a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in managing daily operations within the department
- Collaborate with the Ambient Manager on routine tasks and explore new opportunities
- Partner with the eCommerce team to maximize efficiencies and ensure complete, high-quality orders
- Ensure adherence to safety and food safety standards, maintaining full compliance
- Support payroll processes for timely and accurate team payments
- Work with the product team to ensure fresh, high-quality products and accurate order fulfillment
- Contribute to process improvements by collaborating with peers and other teams
- Assist with rostering and training, ensuring compliance with employment agreements and training standards
- Support coaching and development of team members to foster future talent growth
- Experience supporting the Ambient / Long Life Department
- Background in retail roles with a focus on support functions
- Understanding of online order fulfillment processes and systems
- Knowledge of inventory management, production, and replenishment practices
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Effective time management, planning, and organizational skills
- Ability to coach and engage team members
- Proficiency with computers, digital tools, and resources for daily operations
