Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction to the Sub-Faculty of Translational Medicine and Public Health, ensuring alignment with the university's strategic plan.
  • Lead and inspire a diverse community of academics, students, and professional staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Drive growth in student enrolments, research funding, and industry engagement, while ensuring operational effectiveness.
  • Oversee the research strategy and governance, facilitating collaborations that maximise clinical and translational research outcomes.
  • Represent both organisations at senior levels, positioning them at the forefront of global research partnerships and innovation.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A medical specialist qualification relevant to the Sub-Faculty and Alfred Health.
  • PhD or equivalent research doctorate in a relevant health or medical discipline.
  • Fellowship of a recognised medical college and registration (or eligibility) with AHPRA without conditions.
  • Senior academic standing with an outstanding record of research and teaching.
  • Proven leadership in a research-intensive setting.

  • Strategic and financial acumen, with the ability to lead complex organisations.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • A demonstrated commitment to health equity and transformative leadership.
