Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Disability Support Coordinator to join our team in Queanbeyan. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing support services to individuals with physical or intellectual disabilities, as well as those who have experienced trauma and neglect.

Your primary goal will be to empower these individuals to live independently and participate fully in their communities. This may involve teaching essential life skills such as travel training, cooking, budgeting, and more.

Requirements
  • A minimum Certificate III level qualification in Mental Health, Disabilities, Community Services or related field; or willingness to enrol and obtain relevant certificate.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, or those with a history of trauma and neglect.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish strong professional relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with poise and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within complex family dynamics.
  • Flexibility to work in diverse settings, including clients' homes, other services, or community groups.
  • Availability to work as part of a 7-day roster, between 6am-6pm.
  • A vehicle with comprehensive insurance (for work purposes) and current driver's license.
