Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Robotics Engineer to join our team as a Slam Expert. As a key member of our engineering team, you will drive innovation in real-time localization and mapping for our state-of-the-art Hovermap device.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement enhancements to our point cloud mapping pipeline.
- Innovate and refine state estimation, sensor fusion techniques, and mathematical optimization processes to enhance system accuracy and robustness.
- Develop and execute Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) tests and robust test environments to validate system performance under various scenarios.
- Write high-performance, scalable, and maintainable code, ensuring high standards of quality and comprehensive documentation.
- Collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team to drive project milestones and deliver cutting-edge solutions.
- Maintain and improve project documentation, ensuring clarity and accessibility for both internal stakeholders and the broader engineering community.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field, complemented by at least 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python with a track record of deploying complex systems in real-world environments.
- Exceptional communication skills coupled with high self-motivation and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
- Desirable experience: Expertise in Simultaneous localization and Mapping, State estimation and sensor fusion, Mathematical optimization, Handling and processing of LiDAR sensor data and point clouds, Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in Robotics, Computer Science, or related field.
- Hands-on experience with Linux development environments.
- Practical knowledge of cameras, visual odometry, IMU, and GPS data integration.
- Familiarity with contemporary software development methodologies, including agile practices.
