A Day in the Life
AUS Medtronic Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Specialist to join our revered Cranial & Spinal Technologies team in Queensland. If you want to make a difference in patients' lives and are looking for the next step in your career, this role may be the perfect fit.
Cranial and Spinal Technologies (CST) is the market leader in spinal implants, robotics, and navigation. We are redefining cranial and spinal procedures to reduce variability and improve outcomes with the goal of restoring long-term quality of life for more patients. We are the first company to offer an integrated solution that includes artificial intelligence-driven surgical planning, personalized spinal implants, and robotic-assisted surgical delivery to make patient care more customized.
The Clinical Specialist will provide superior customer service, clinical support, and practice professional and effective territory management for our Queensland region. This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral member of our highly successful Spinal and Biologics team and be responsible for key customer success by supporting and training customers on Medtronic Spine and Navigation products and services.
There is an opportunity for this role to be a Senior Clinical Specialist subject to your experience and competences.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Works and collaborates with regional Spinal Sales, and neurosurgery teams to identify prospective new users for applicable technology-enabled procedures, growing technology adoption and increasing utilization.
- Works in collaboration with the State Sales manager to prioritize customer technical support and service expectation goals and executes company programs.
- Responsible for documentation at new or existing installations.
- Coordinates, supports, and collaborates with area managers and other Surgical Synergy team members for on-site installations with our customers.
- Represents AUS Medtronic Australia during technology-enabled procedures to provide technical assistance.
- Provides timely information to the regional team regarding customer concerns, issues, and market opportunities.
- Reports necessary complaints and partners with customer service to ensure full resolution.
- Edits and trains physicians and hospital personnel – OR, Radiology, Central Sterile Processing, Biomedical, and Information Technologies – on technical matters relating to our technology-enabled procedures.
- Provides a clinical resource for surgeons, clinicians, and others being trained.
- Provides training and resources for hospital staff to enable them to conduct training for their personnel (train the trainer).
- Continually trains members of the Surgical Synergy Clinical Support team to increase their knowledge of the latest technology-enabled procedures.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Must Have
- High School Diploma with minimum of 8 years relevant experience OR Associate Diploma with minimum of 6 years relevant experience OR Bachelor's Degree with minimum of 4 years relevant experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a clinical setting (e.g., in-theatre) or within the medical device industry.
Nice to Have:
- Biomedical background.
- Previous knowledge and experience in Image Guided surgery (IGS).
- Experience in Robot operating systems / Engineering.
