Wenco International Mining Systems is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineering Lead to join our team in Brisbane, Australia.

The Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the design and implementation of complex systems comprised of edge and cloud computing elements, sensing and sensor processing communicating using fixed and wireless networks.
  • Collaborate with product management and business teams to transform product and business requirements into designs.
  • Leverage automation and simulation frameworks for product development and verification.
  • Apply a pragmatic, risk-based approach to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain technical specifications and requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the field of systems engineering.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years' experience in systems engineering, preferably in the mining industry or related field.
  • Strong software development background, preferably in Python and C++.
  • Experience developing specifications from requirements and creating tooling and processes to validate systems against these requirements.
  • Experience with automation and simulation frameworks for product development and verification.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply a pragmatic, risk-based approach to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Ability to work with product management and business teams to transform product and business requirements into designs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with the mining industry and/or mining operational systems such as Asset Health or Fleet Management.
  • Experience working in the autonomous vehicle or robotics industry.
