Key Role:
We are seeking a seasoned environmental professional to provide structured, risk-based support across our operations.
This role is ideal for someone with 3-5 years of experience in mining, refining, or heavy industry, looking to advance their environmental career and make a tangible impact.
Job Responsibilities:
- Offer clear, practical environmental guidance to operational teams, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Lead or contribute to investigations into environmental incidents, spills, and exceedances, applying root cause analysis and preparing comprehensive reports.
- Coordinate and mentor technicians delivering groundwater, surface water, air quality, and noise monitoring programs, ensuring data integrity and timely reporting.
- Support project planning, shutdowns, and infrastructure upgrades with structured risk assessments and control recommendations.
- Facilitate internal and external audits, maintain compliance registers, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Deliver training sessions and workshops to embed environmental awareness across all workgroups.
- Engage with regulators and stakeholders as required, representing the company in a professional, solution-focused manner.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in environmental compliance within mining, refining, or other heavy industry operations.
- Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory reporting obligations.
- Proven track record leading or supporting structured incident investigations and risk management programs.
- Proficient in environmental data management systems (similar to MonitorPro), with strong analytical skills.
- Effective communicator, confident in liaising with site teams, contractors, and regulators.
- Current manual driver's licence (boat licence desirable).
