About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Infection Prevention and Control Specialist to join our team at Healthscope. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention and control across our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage the implementation of current Infection Prevention and Control Standards
  • Monitor and evaluate Infection Prevention and Control procedures, practices, and standards
  • Collaborate with Executive, VMO, managers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective infection prevention and control practices
  • Participate in relevant committees and contribute to the development of infection prevention and control policies and procedures
  • Collect, collate, and analyze statistical data and trends related to infection prevention and control
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislative requirements and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve hand hygiene and antimicrobial stewardship practices
Requirements
  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum 3 years Post Graduate Experience
  • Certificate or Diploma in Infection Prevention and Control (or evidence of currently working towards achievement)
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
  • Clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to write reports and collate and analyze statistical information
  • Professional development in Infection Prevention and Control
  • Immunisation certificate or working towards
  • Gold Standard Auditor for NHHI
