Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Infection Prevention Control Coordinator to join our team at Healthscope. As a key member of our nursing and midwifery team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention and control across our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage the implementation of current Infection Prevention and Control Standards
  • Monitor and evaluate Infection Prevention and Control procedures, practices, and standards
  • Collaborate with executive, VMO, managers, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve infection prevention and control goals
  • Participate in relevant committees and national healthscope infection control cluster
  • Collect, collate, and analyze identified statistical data and trends
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislative requirements and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Develop and review policies, staff education, and adverse incident reporting and investigations
  • Manage anti-microbial stewardship and hand hygiene programs, including staff training and data reporting
Requirements
  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum 3 years post-graduate experience
  • Certificate or diploma in infection prevention and control (or evidence of currently working towards achievement)
  • Compliance with ACQSHC national standards
  • Clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to write reports and collate and analyze statistical information
  • Professional development in infection prevention and control
  • Immunization certificate or working towards
  • Gold standard auditor for NHHI
