We are seeking an experienced Infection Prevention Control Coordinator to join our team at Healthscope. As a key member of our nursing and midwifery team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention and control across our facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage the implementation of current Infection Prevention and Control Standards
- Monitor and evaluate Infection Prevention and Control procedures, practices, and standards
- Collaborate with executive, VMO, managers, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve infection prevention and control goals
- Participate in relevant committees and national healthscope infection control cluster
- Collect, collate, and analyze identified statistical data and trends
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislative requirements and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Develop and review policies, staff education, and adverse incident reporting and investigations
- Manage anti-microbial stewardship and hand hygiene programs, including staff training and data reporting
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Minimum 3 years post-graduate experience
- Certificate or diploma in infection prevention and control (or evidence of currently working towards achievement)
- Compliance with ACQSHC national standards
- Clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to write reports and collate and analyze statistical information
- Professional development in infection prevention and control
- Immunization certificate or working towards
- Gold standard auditor for NHHI
