We are seeking an experienced Team Lead to oversee the drafting team and ensure compliance across residential projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a high-level knowledge of NCC, DA/CDC processes, Council DCPs/LEPs, and residential construction methods.
Responsibilities- Lead the drafting team and oversee daily operations and workflow.
- Manage drafting queries, plan amendments, compliance checks, and structural change approvals.
- Conduct compliance reviews from Sales through to Contract signing, ensuring alignment with relevant regulations.
- Assist with DA and CDC requirements to ensure feasibility and approval readiness.
- Support Sales and Tender teams with technical advice on plan approvals, floor plan changes, and compliance-related enquiries.
- Manage drafting components of Tender and Contract documentation, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Approve or recommend design changes, balancing structural integrity, compliance, and buildability.
- Collaborate with Sales, Estimating, and Permits teams to deliver a seamless drafting and compliance process.
- 5+ years' experience in residential drafting within the volume building industry.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.
- High-level knowledge of the NCC, DA/CDC processes, Council DCPs/LEPs, and residential construction methods.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit experience highly regarded).
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
