Clarendon Homes is seeking an experienced and motivated Drafting & Compliance Team Leader to join our team in Norwest, NSW. About the Role

As the Drafting & Compliance Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in leading our drafting team and overseeing compliance across residential projects. This role is critical in ensuring the production of high-quality architectural designs, alignment with compliance requirements, and efficient workflow management to support our Sales, Tender, and Construction processes.

Responsibilities
  • Leading, mentoring, and supporting the drafting team, managing daily operations and workflow.
  • Overseeing drafting queries, plan amendments, compliance checks, and structural change approvals.
  • Conducting compliance reviews from Sales through to Contract signing, ensuring alignment with NCC, Council DCP/LEPs, and developer guidelines.
  • Assisting with DA and CDC requirements to ensure feasibility and approval readiness.
  • Supporting Sales and Tender teams with technical advice on plan approvals, floor plan changes, and compliance-related enquiries.
  • Managing drafting components of Tender and Contract documentation, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Approving or recommending design changes, balancing structural integrity, compliance, and buildability.
  • Working collaboratively with Sales, Estimating, and Permits teams to deliver a seamless drafting and compliance process.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience in residential drafting within the volume building industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.
  • High-level knowledge of the NCC, DA/CDC processes, Council DCPs/LEPs, and residential construction methods.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit experience highly regarded).
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
