Research Associate in Sustainable Construction Materials

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of New South Wales is seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to join our team. As a Research Associate, you will play a key role in our sustainable concrete projects, focusing on developing and optimizing novel construction material mix designs and testing their performance and durability compared to traditional concretes made from Portland cement.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct independent research with limited supervision on sustainable construction materials, alkali-activated materials, and related areas.
- Collaborate closely with the project leader and team to transfer knowledge to industry partners and work proactively to seek their feedback for continuous improvement of products.
- Develop scholarly research and professional activities through contributions to scientific papers and reports, participation in conferences and workshops, and engagement with industry partners.
- Work effectively in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build strong relationships with stakeholders and students.
- PhD (or soon to be awarded) in construction materials, alkali-activated materials, or related areas.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
- Fixed-term contract – 12 months.
- Full-time position.
- Salary – $100,318 to $107,299 per annum + 17% superannuation.
