Research Associate in Sustainable Construction Materials Specialist

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of New South Wales has an exciting opportunity for a Research Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be working on sustainable concrete projects, developing and optimizing novel construction material mix designs, and testing their performance and durability compared to traditional concretes made from Portland cement.
You will collaborate closely with the project leader and the team to transfer knowledge to industry partners and work proactively to seek their feedback for continuous improvement of the products.
This position offers the opportunity to develop your scholarly research and professional activities nationally and internationally through contributions to scientific papers and reports, participation in conferences and workshops, and engagement with industry partners.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct independent research with limited supervision on sustainable construction materials.
- Develop and optimize novel construction material mix designs.
- Test the performance and durability of sustainable construction materials.
- Collaborate with industry partners to transfer knowledge and seek feedback.
- Contribute to scientific papers and reports, participate in conferences and workshops, and engage with industry partners.
- PhD in construction materials, alkali-activated materials, or related areas.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
