About the Role


Central Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of mental health services in Australia.


In this position, you will leverage your extensive clinical expertise to provide exceptional care to mental health consumers, ensuring that every individual receives the highest standard of treatment.


As a clinical leader, you will foster a collaborative environment, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, patient-focused services that prioritise safety and best practice.


Your responsibilities will extend beyond direct patient care; you will also have the opportunity to inspire the next generation of medical professionals by mentoring trainees, interns, and medical students.


You will be involved in clinical audits, quality assurance, and ongoing research to contribute to the continuous improvement of our services.


About You


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess the following key qualifications and skills:



  • Qualifications: Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, with specialist registration and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.
  • Clinical Expertise: Proven track record of high standards in mental health practice, alongside experience in quality improvement and clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication abilities, professional integrity, and the capacity to build positive working relationships with colleagues and patients.
  • Commitment to Development: Ongoing engagement in professional development, teaching experience, and a thorough understanding of mental health policies and recovery-based practices.
