
Expert Curriculum and Assessment Leader

The Department of Education is seeking a highly skilled Secondary Curriculum and Assessment Specialist to provide leadership in the development and review of curriculum, assessment, and standards support materials for Years 7–12.
This role involves overseeing processes and deliverables associated with adopting and/or adapting the Australian Curriculum Version 9.0 for Health and Physical Education (Years 7–10), with a particular focus on Health Studies in Years 11–12.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing expert guidance on curriculum and assessment to support the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline (Outline) and WACE.
- Overseeing the implementation of curriculum standards.
- Coordinating moderation activities to ensure statewide consistency.
- Contributing to the development of high-quality ATAR course examinations and marking keys.
In this position, you will facilitate information sessions and provide strategic advice at both state and national levels.

To be eligible for this position, you must:
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
- Hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia.
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
