Financial Assistant

We are seeking a Financial Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, processing transactions, and providing support to the finance team.
Job Responsibilities- Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain and reconcile financial records and ledgers on a regular basis.
- Support month-end and year-end financial reporting and audits as required.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts.
- Qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Previous experience in transactional finance or a similar finance officer role, preferably within local government or the public sector.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Familiarity with local government accounting practices and relevant legislation is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small finance team.
- Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Be part of a supportive and community-focused local government team.
- Gaining diverse experience across multiple finance functions in a well-established council environment.
