Senior Fashion Buyer

Job DescriptionWe're seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our talented Buying team in redefining the fashion category. As a Senior Buyer, you'll be at the forefront of driving the category to new heights, unleashing your creativity and expertise to develop commercially relevant ranges for Forever New's global markets.
Key Responsibilities- Construct a commercially balanced range that offers the right mix of print, plain, and color and end use for the business
- Liaise with the Managing Director and Buying leaders on long-term product planning
- Ensure a clear and sensible price architecture that ensures maximum sales and profitability
- Work with design to ensure range reflects the right level of newness/fashion/trend and that volume lines are maximized and moved on at the right time
- Coordinate all areas of the buying process to ensure that stock is ordered and delivered on time
- Analyze and have a comprehensive understanding of category history applying this to the range build
- Ensure range reflects climate needs of all regions
- Ensure all department financial parameters and targets are achieved
- Respond to sales and market data to make commercial decisions to maximize sales opportunities and minimize potential future risks
- Trade the department, in collaboration with the Planner, by optimizing profit, maximizing department potential through repeats, and minimizing slow performance through promotion or mark-downs
- Comprehensive knowledge of local and overseas market trends through various mediums including magazines and online research
- Analyze relevance of trends for brand and plan reaction accordingly
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and awareness of competitors and external trends, identifying missed opportunities and trends to maximize revenue
- Brief Design to ensure fabrics, prints, and style details are consistent with brand vision using relevant option plan provided by Planning
- Work with Design & QA to ensure best fit, consistency of fit, and best possible quality of fabric, trim, make, and finish
- Make commercial decisions throughout the development process of a product with respect to delivering the most commercial style in the most profitable way, adhering to brand standards
- Be aware of production progress against department critical path ensuring key dates are met by the team
- Specific dress category experience is highly favorable
- At least 5 years' experience as a Buyer or 2+ years' experience as a Senior Buyer
- Exceptional knowledge of all fabrications, raw materials, product categories, and garment construction
- Experience working across international markets
- Strong commercial acumen and business judgment
- Well-developed internal and external stakeholder management skills
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Fashion Design/Buying (or equivalent)
- Experience in team management
