A key role exists in overseeing excavation activities and ensuring compliance with relevant documentation, construction standards, and safety protocols. This position reports directly to the Construction Manager and Superintendents in the field.

  • Supervise daily construction activities and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Act as an Excavation Authorised Person (AP), overseeing excavation permits and compliance with procedures.
  • Provide technical advice and troubleshooting for construction and execution issues.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and ensure proper permissions.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure adequate resources are available.
  • Conduct site surveys, quality assurance checks, and participate in project handovers.
  • Maintain strong communication with stakeholders and ensure timely reporting of risks and issues.
  • Support engineering design and field issue resolution.
Requirements

This role requires a minimum 5 years' experience in excavation and backfill of live assets in the oil & gas industry.

  • Proven experience with HDPE water and gas gathering systems.
  • Certificate III in Gas Supply Industry or ability to obtain.
  • Competency in squeeze-off, hot tap, HDPE welding, flange management, and N2 purging/testing.
  • Familiarity with LPD & HPV excavation and installation.
  • Strong understanding of pipeline construction from clearing to rehabilitation.
  • Experience with safety management systems and HSSE principles.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and contractor supervision skills.
