Job Description

The Government Legislation and Liaison Office plays a pivotal role in supporting the offices of the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, as well as the Director-General, Department of Justice and Attorney-General (DJAG).

Our team is responsible for ensuring seamless administrative processes associated with government policies.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert guidance and support to the Director and Government Legislation and Liaison Office (GLLO) on policy procedures and processes.
  • Review and critically evaluate submissions and briefing notes to guarantee quality, relevance, and appropriateness, adhering to government guidelines.
  • Offer high-level specialist services to ensure timely and accurate coordination and management of all aspects of the Attorney-General's policy business, including briefing notes and other documentation.
  • Contribute to the management and coordination of the legislation program for the Justice portfolio, encompassing the management and coordination of the expiry of subordinate legislation made under the Statutory Instruments Act 1992.
  • Maintain the secure storage, handling, and dissemination of policy documents within DJAG, in accordance with the Governing Queensland Suite, particularly the Cabinet Handbook and relevant guidelines.
