About the Role:

  • As an NDIS Support Worker, you will be responsible for implementing tailored support plans designed to meet the unique needs and goals of each client.
  • You will also be supporting individuals with non-verbal communication through alternative communication methods.
  • The successful candidate will be able to manage challenging behaviors, including aggression and self-harm, in a safe and effective manner.
  • Assisting clients with daily living activities, personal care, and community participation is also a key aspect of this role.
  • We are looking for someone who can build positive relationships with clients, their families, and other support networks.
  • You will be required to document client progress, interventions, and incidents in accordance with NDIS guidelines.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external service providers is essential to ensure holistic care and support.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of experience working as an NDIS Support Worker, with a focus on autism and complex care needs.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in supporting individuals with autism, adolescence, and non-verbal communication.
  • Proven ability to manage challenging behaviors, including aggression and self-harm, in a calm and professional manner.
  • Familiarity with NDIS documentation requirements, including note writing and reporting.
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or a related field.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their support networks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • A compassionate and person-centered approach to care and support.
